Famous songs of an unforgettable singer again on vinyl

After a few decades, the breathtaking voice from Ostrava is once again getting into the grooves of a gramophone record. It may have a limited runtime, but again in the 32 x 32 cm format it offers a beautifully tangible piece of memories. Every compilation is inherently imperfect, some songs may be missing, but the important thing is that none of them are unnecessarily missing.

The compiler and author of the accompanying biographical text, Miloš Skalka, has selected songs from the period from 1970 to 2001, both the originally energetic rock songs and the experienced melodically celebrated ones. Following in the footsteps of Ennio Morricone’s immortal version of one of the central musical themes for the spaghetti western film “Once Upon a Time in the West”, you will find here a varied collection of songs taken from, as well as those by, the best local composers. These composers have paid tribute to the incredible singing, moreover usually using the words of our leading lyricists.

All in all, it’s still a valid experience, even though Ms. Věra has been delighting appreciative listeners somewhere in the hopeful infinite for almost three years now. Adorned with a photograph of the also now sadly deceased Petr Škvrna, this unique vinyl offers twelve song memories of a lady small in stature but blessed with a big voice and heart: such a combination cannot disappoint even after many years.
