Guerilla Records Release Information



The band that changed the lives of many people is being re-released in its entirety on CD. We managed to get the original tapes, which the genius Master of Sound Ondřej Ježek in the Jámor studio disassembled into the first elements and glued back together, which resulted in a much better sound, details we had no idea about stood out and he wrapped everything in new energy. And because we think that the legend “the band that defeated communism with its music” has been said all over again, we really focused on the genius of Mejla Hlavsa’s music, timeless lyrics and the band’s specific sound, which was unparalleled in the world.

We have spiced everything up with a lot of period photographs, many of which are published for the first time and bring the life of the “merry ghetto” closer to the uninitiated without the need for extensive commentary. Each title has a completely new cover, and we always approached one of the artists who was close to the band and its artistic expression, trying to create a compact whole that would connect everything that was unique and unrepeatable about the Plastic People.

In this case, the title image is by Martin Frind and the booklet contains photographs by Petr Prokes and Ondřej Němec. The editions are equipped with English translations.
