The CD contains 11 new songs, which – typically for Jan Brabec – combine refined authorial poetry with the peculiarly original world of his music (and where we can hear the beat of PPU drums in our subconscious). After more than ten years of silence, Domácí Kapela comes with a recording packed with new ideas, energy, sparkle, and yet very emotional and melancholically dreamy, as we remember Domácí Kapela from the past.

The band – and thus especially the bandleader Jan Brabec, lyrics (with one exception of I. M. Jirous) and music are all by him – stuck to thoughtful atmosphere building, rich compact sound and drawing the listener inside the sung stories. With a balanced yet varied repertoire, the recording’s luxurious sound, and excellent musical performances – including a guest appearance by jazz trumpet legend Michal Gera – the CD is truly a pleasure to listen to.
