Jubilee reissue of his solo debut, the seminal album from 1983

Even forty years since its original release, this album is worthy of being named the long-playing record of the season. It’s not just the magazine and other accolades, but above all the fact that a substantial number of the songs are – to the unconceived delight of audiences – still part of Pospíšil’s concert repertoire.

His tenure in C & K Vocal was important, his subsequent independence logical. As the majority author of the music, here in collaboration with lyricist Ladislav Kantor, he created a unique type of rock singer-songwriter. His unmistakable vocals are perfectly complemented by strong melodies and poetic lyrics, in both cases never losing touch with the listener. Ota Petřina, whose compositional, instrumental and band work helped make the album an event, also had a significant share in the success of the matter. The first edition of the LP was small and not rereleased after selling out, so this vintage vinyl picks up after four decades.

Graphic artist Karel Haloun once again celebrates the photographs of Jarek Prokop, while Luboš Pospíšil has added a short look back.

As a CD bonus, the eight-minute opus “Lásko, lásko... ” (Love, Love...) works perfectly, a clear signal for finding the courage for his upcoming solo career.
