Commemoration of the jubilee with great music

The jazz pianist, composer and arranger Emil Viklický is turning seventy-five in the full swing of his work. This reissue symbolizes his Moravian-born affinity for folk songs, transformed into compositions for basic trio and special guests. In both line-ups you will find the perfect names for this type of combination: double bassist František Uhlíř and drummer Cyril Zeleňák plus violinist Jiří Pavlica (70 this year), dulcimerist Milan Malina, saxophonist František Kop and two female singers, Iva Bittová (65 this year) and the legendary Věra Domincová.

The nine original folk items and one new composition are instrumentally sovereign, melodically rich and adorned with exceptional vocals, a listening experience somewhat overheard in the social and musical importation movement at the time of its release, in 1991. The music, however, remained very fresh, inspired and inspiring, as this year’s LP & CD reissue clearly demonstrates in a graphic sleeve, accompanied for the first time by commemorative lyrics and photographs.
