Croatia Records Release Information

At 15 February 2024, our noted saxophonist and composer Mario Bočić and Jazz Orkestar HRT-a (the HRT Jazz Orchestra) held the concert promotion of the album “Candide” in the packed “Klub Komedija”, which is now available as an LP edition, published as a co-release of HRT and Croatia Records.

The LP contains seven exceptional compositions. The music was composed by Bočić himself, while the arrangements were made by Luka Žužić, Emiliano Sampaio, Miron Hauser and Štěpánka Balcarová. The album was recorded in the HRT studios under the baton of Miron Hauser. “Candide” or optimism, was Bočić’s leitmotiv and guiding thought when creating this unique album, to bring a touch of optimism to the world through his music.

The saxophonist Mario Bočić stands out with his carefree and relaxed playing and unique tone among talented musicians on the domestic jazz scene. As an award-winning musician, trained in Graz and Klagenfurt (classical and jazz saxophone), he is a participant in a number of projects and ensembles and has been a permanent member of the Hrt Jazz Orchestra for over ten years.
