Sara Renar presents a live album recorded at KSET on the occasion of 10 years of her career
In April 2023, singer-songwriter and multimedia artist Sara Renar gathered an expanded line-up of her backing band and performed at the KSET club at a concert celebrating 10 years of a very successful career. It has been 10 years since the first studio album “Djeca” (Children), by one of the best Croatian singer-songwriters, and in her 10-year career she has achieved a lot: She has been nominated for the Porin award several times, once won the statue, she has toured a good part of Europe with her repertoire, participated in numerous musical and conceptual projects, and her latest studio album “Šuti i pjevaj” (Shut up and Sing) was declared by some music critics to be the best, or at least the most important or bravest of her career. “Šuti i pjevaj” also received a remix album, and then ended up on vinyl.
“Dear friends, I proudly present my first live concert album – “Live @ KSET”. The album brings a cross-section of ten years of my career so far and awakens a whirlwind of emotions in me. These songs grew and developed with me, finding their way to a new audience and new meanings, while still retaining the old ones. It was a huge honor for me to share the concert experience with dear collaborators whom I greatly appreciate: Vedran Peternel took care of the superb sound experience, I shared the stage with a great musical line-up – Dimitrije Simović, Igor Pavlica and Marko Lucijan Hraščanec, and the great lighting design was arranged by Marko Mijatović. I am very glad that this album has finally seen the light of day, and I hope that the audience will have the opportunity to watch the complete video material as soon as possible for the full experience. I hope it will evoke deep emotions in you, but also inspire you to dance and move, just like those rainy April evenings last year at KSET,” said Sara ahead of the album’s release.
“Live @ KSET” brings an audio-visual experience on CD and Blu-Ray. The album’s mix was done by Luka Čabo and Vedran Peternel, the mastering by Goran Martinac, while the video production was done by Marko Zeljković / Studio 69. In addition to the album, Sara is also presenting a new video from the concert today, and it is the song “Razmak” (Space) which was originally found on her album “Jesen” (Autumn). In addition to this and the previous single from the live album, “U velikom stilu” (In Grand Style), the album also includes Sara’s hits such as “Jesen” (Autumn), “Tišina” (Silence), “Šuti i pjevaj” (Shut up and Sing) and many others.
Songs from Sara’s first decade of music at KSET have been performed in different, even richer arrangements. Along with Dimitrij Simović on synth, guitars and drum pad, who makes up the permanent concert line-up, Sara was also joined on stage by Igor Pavlica on trumpet and Marko Lucijan Hraščanec on saxophone and keyboards, and the concert could not have been complete without Vedran Peternel, who was behind the mixing desk and additional sounds and samples that especially enriched the concert. It was a unique audio-visual story of Sara Renar.
