Balkan Zoo is a music project led by bassist and composer Mario Rašić, and for more than 12 years has been exploring and promoting the music of Balkan traditions through modern arrangements.

With “Muzika za ples” (Music for Dance), they introduce the listeners to a new musical direction, combining Roma melodies, flamenco and progressive world music elements into a unique sound expression. The album brings incredible energy, and each song carries emotions that will take the audience on a journey through different aspects of life: happiness, love, passion, sadness and joy. “Muzika za ples” is a reflection of passion, tradition and innovation.

Mario Rašić and Nina Ćorić have already performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina with different projects, but for the first time Balkan Zoo will perform in this line-up at the National Theater Sarajevo and present the album “Muzika za ples”. This concert, which enjoys significant media support, will provide a unique opportunity for the Sarajevo audience to enjoy their energetic performance and rich musical expression.

“We were brought together by our love for music! We started our journey together with the album “Recycle”, released in 2022, and since then our adventure of performing Roma songs in our own way has continued. On this album, we have embarked on some new paths and dedicated ourselves to some new songs that listeners have yet to get to know. We were also brought together by emotions!

We decided to try to transfer our shared energy to a new record in the way music was once recorded, in the hope that this energy will inspire you to dance,” said Nina Ćorić, with whom Balkan Zoo began collaborating in 2021.
