After years of a creative and musical journey, the singer-songwriter and actress Maja Posavec presents her latest project “Leaving a Lover”, a concept album released under the artistic pseudonym Poma.

This strongly authorial and intimate musical project brings seven connected songs that together form an emotional and dramatic whole – a transformative journey through the end of one love.

Each of the songs – “The Fool”, “The Song”, “The Goddess”, “The Blood”, “The Autumn”, “The Kiss” and “The Death” – symbolizes a phase of the inner transformation of a woman who, inspired by fairy tale heroines, goes through the path from loss to self-knowledge. “Leaving a Lover” is more than an album – it is a musical story about strength, vulnerability and returning to herself.

Maja signs the music and lyrics of all songs, while the arrangements are signed by her long-time musical collaborator Ivan Kapec. Along with them, the album features excellent musicians: Jurica Štelma (double bass), Borko Rupena (drums), Mario Bočić (saxophone) and Hrvoje Galler (piano). The album was recorded at the Fazni Pomak studio, in collaboration with the sound engineer Sven Pavlović.

The sound of “Leaving a Lover” hovers between jazz, poetry and intimate theatre, and the same approach is translated into live performances, which function as a musical-stage play. On stage, the music intertwines with narration, non-verbal scenes and sound documents, creating a powerful theatrical-musical experience.

The first single from the album, “The Goddess”, has already been presented with a striking video directed by Ivo Čaisa, further emphasizing the visual and emotional depth of the album.

Through her alias Poma, Maja has been building an artistic space free from previous identities – a space in which the boundaries between music, theatre and personal confession are erased. Audiences will soon be able to experience its live performance as a full-fledged theatrical-musical work.
